FAQs

How do commissions work?

Getting a custom drawing is an easy process, and I’ll guide you through each step.
You’ll start by filling out the Commissions Form, and we’ll discuss your vision, size, and reference photo. Once everything’s finalized, a 50% deposit secures your spot on my schedule.

I’ll spend the next few weeks bringing your piece to life (timing depends on size), and you’ll have the option to add a frame before it ships. Once the final balance is paid, your artwork is carefully packaged and sent to you – ready to be treasured for generations.

To learn more about the full process, visit the Commissions page.

What’s the difference between print types?

My fine art prints are available in three premium options:

• Giclée (Archival Paper): 300gsm archival, heavyweight paper with rich, museum-quality detail that beautifully mimics the texture of the original drawing. I offer a UV-protected frame option with Giclée prints, which I highly recommend to ensure your print keeps its vibrancy.

• Canvas Prints: Textured and elegant, stretched over a wooden frame for a gallery-style look. Optional frames are available for a more polished, finished appearance.

• Acrylic Prints: High-gloss, ultra-modern, and vibrant — perfect for a bold, contemporary display. No frame is needed.

All options are produced using professional printing methods and premium materials for the highest quality finish.

To explore frame options in detail, visit the Frames page.

Can I request a specific size or framing style not listed?

Absolutely. Custom/additional sizing is available for both commissions and prints.
For prints, please note that if your requested size doesn’t match the original artwork’s ratio, slight cropping may occur to maintain proper proportions.
Frame styles aren’t customizable at the moment, but there will always be a frame size that fits your selected print perfectly.

What mediums do you use?

I work primarily in graphite and charcoal, with pan pastel, acrylic, and colored pencil when the piece calls for it. My style is ultrarealism/realism, so every subject is rendered with precision and depth, capturing even the smallest details that make each piece feel alive.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes! I ship worldwide.
Shipping is free within the U.S., and international orders are calculated at checkout. Please note that customs fees or import duties may apply depending on your country.

Do you accept rush orders?

Yes, for an added fee. Please contact me directly to discuss availability.

What is your return policy?

Because each piece is made uniquely for you, commissions are final sale, and the 50% deposit is nonrefundable.

Prints are made to order and final sale as well.

If you’ve purchased an original drawing, returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery, as long as it’s returned in its original condition.

If your artwork arrives damaged or something isn’t right, please contact me within 48 hours – I’ll make sure it’s taken care of right away.

Who owns the artwork once it’s done?

You’ll own the physical artwork.
I retain the copyright, which allows me to share the piece in my portfolio or on social media.

I love when clients share their finished drawings—please feel free to post or show them off!
If sharing online, kindly credit @drawingsbyrena (or @renadrawings on TikTok). It helps others discover my work and supports what I do.
